ETH staking rewards scenario calculator

Compare simple and periodically compounded ETH staking reward scenarios using your own APR, time period, compounding frequency, and fee assumptions.

Compare simple and periodically compounded ETH reward scenarios using assumptions you choose. The APR is an input, not a current rate or a promised return.

Enter the amount, APR, duration, and fee assumptions to compare scenarios.

The upfront fee is deducted from the starting amount. The reward fee is applied to modeled rewards. Frequency describes the calculator's arithmetic schedule; it does not describe a staking provider's payout schedule.

Method and assumptions

For the simple scenario, the starting balance after the upfront fee is multiplied by the entered APR and duration. The entered reward fee is subtracted from those rewards; rewards do not earn additional rewards.

For the compound scenario, the calculator credits rewards each selected period. In each period, it applies APR divided by periods per year to the current balance, then reduces that period's reward by the entered fee share. A fractional final period is prorated using the same periodic rate. Displayed balances and rewards are in ETH.

This is a fixed-APR arithmetic scenario. Ethereum.org explains that staking involves different participation methods and risks; reward amounts and provider terms can vary. This tool does not fetch current rates or account for provider commissions beyond your input, validator penalties or slashing, lockup or withdrawal timing, taxes, ETH price changes, or fees not entered here. It does not estimate fiat value or promise a result.

How it works

Enter an ETH amount, assumed APR, duration, compounding frequency, reward fee, and any upfront fee. The calculator compares simple and periodic compound scenarios in ETH units.

Good to know

How are simple and compound rewards estimated?

The simple scenario applies the entered APR to the initial amount after the upfront fee for the full term, then subtracts the entered share of rewards taken as a fee. The compound scenario applies APR divided by periods per year at each period, with the reward fee reducing each period's credited reward. Both results are arithmetic scenarios in ETH.

Is this an estimate of Ethereum's current staking APR?

No. You supply the APR. Ethereum staking rewards vary with network conditions and participation, and a provider may apply its own fees, eligibility rules, or payout method. The calculator does not fetch a rate or estimate what a particular provider will pay.

What does the fee input cover?

The reward fee is a percentage of modeled rewards, and the upfront fee is a one-time amount deducted from the starting ETH. They are user-entered assumptions, not observed provider charges. Other costs, penalties, taxes, price changes, and withdrawal timing are excluded.
